Yes. Every reservation is a private whole-house booking (kashikiri). The entire building is reserved for your group alone, so you will never share the space with other guests. A staff member greets you at reception, but otherwise the house is yours.

We are a Kyoto machiya (traditional townhouse) in Nakagyo Ward, about a 5-minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station on the subway, near the Shijo area. We have no parking or bicycle parking of our own, so we recommend coming by public transport.

On arrival the tub holds cold water, but you are welcome to add hot water yourself for a warm soak.

Yes. Self-service löyly is available — you can ladle water over the hot sauna stones yourself to raise the steam.
